How do you organize the perfect Easter brunch?

Hoe organiseer je de perfecte paasbrunch?

It's almost time for Easter again! Of course, that includes a nice Easter brunch. Are you responsible for organizing this wonderful festival this year? In this blog I, Ianthe, will take you through organizing the perfect Easter brunch!

Twice a year we gather around the table with the whole family: at Christmas and at Easter. I always enjoy organizing this myself. And of course I don't mean that I spend hours in the kitchen alone, but especially the planning and decoration. Now that we can finally get together with a large group again, I can't wait to organize Easter brunch for my family. I'd love to share my tips with you, so follow the steps and steal the show!

1. The perfect Easter table

An Easter brunch or Easter breakfast naturally starts with the decoration of the Easter table. This is what I enjoy doing the most. You start with a tablecloth. My tip is to use a calm, plain tablecloth in a light color, because you will soon go wild with the decoration.

Then it's time for the placemats. Just look at these felt Easter bunny placemats from VanZus: so cute! We have them in different styles and colors so go crazy and mix it up!

Set the table with plates, glasses and cutlery and place the napkins on the plate. Take VanZus' Easter napkins for example:

Don't forget the egg cups! Sprinkle some Easter eggs over the table, place the daffodils on the table and light some candles. Also nice: instead of putting the Easter branches in a vase, you can also cut off some branches and place them on the table. Slide some pegs with chicks on top and place the Easter egg hangers in between. If you would rather just put the Easter branches in a vase, VanZus has very cheerful Easter bunnies to hang in it! Check them out here:

Make sure you leave room on the table for the food, so don't overcrowd the table. You can optionally use shelves to create more space. Besides, it also looks nice! To add even more atmosphere to your Easter table, you can also hang decorations on the wall or above the table. At VanZus we have very nice streamers and balloons in beautiful Easter colors that brighten up the Easter table:

2. Snacks for everyone

Not entirely unimportant: what are you going to eat and drink? Like I said before, you don't have to do everything alone. But are you just like me who can't hand it over? Delegate! Come up with some fun snacks and ask who would like to take on what. This way you can still decide what is served on your beautiful Easter table.

Every supermarket sells Easter buns and butter lambs. And of course the Easter stollen should not be missed. This is part of it, but you can make your Easter brunch a little more special by turning it into a kind of high tea concept. Grab the etagères and nice bowls and fill the table with different delicacies, such as:

  • Wraps with salmon and/or chicken fillet
  • Mini quiches
  • Scones
  • Small containers of yogurt
  • Bowls with mixed fruit
  • Cinnamon rolls
  • Mini cupcakes/brownies

Serve fresh juices, tea and coffee, and if you really want to make it a success: mimosas! A favorite in my family 😉 (For those who don't know what a mimosa is, a mimosa is a drink made with half champagne and half orange juice.)

3. Easter egg hunt

An Easter brunch is not complete without an Easter egg hunt. Buy large and small Easter eggs and hide them in the strangest places in the house and - if the weather is nice - in the garden. Make sure you remember where you hid them, otherwise you will end up with melted Easter eggs in the summer...

Make it a fun game by giving points for the Easter eggs: small Easter eggs are worth 2 points, large Easter eggs are worth 1 point. The person who earns the most points wins a nice gift, such as a large chocolate Easter bunny.

At VanZus we have very nice personalized Easter bags and Easter bags in which the kids (or adults, it remains fun after all) can collect the Easter eggs. This makes it even more fun!

Don't forget to take pictures with the family, of the Easter egg hunt and of course of your beautiful Easter table! Hopefully you can put my tips to good use and organize a fantastic Easter brunch! Happy Easter!
