The perfect clothing size per brand

Kidnermaten en maatvoeringen bij VanZus

It is common knowledge that children can often grow very quickly and that a real growth spurt is not uncommon. Do you also recognize that you have bought something and after blinking your eyes it already seems too small?? In this blog we take you through the childrenSizen and give you a size chart as a guideline and we share our experience with the sizing of the brands that we sell.

It can be difficult to choose the right size sometimes, especially if you want to buy something that your child can use for a while and that is still growing. Which size should you choose now??

According to research by Radboud UMC, a child grows an average of 25 centimeters in the first year of life. Depending on the height of a child and the height of the parents, a child then grows on average 6 centimeters per year. In fact, a tall child with tall parents who grows at the top of the growth curve must grow about 8 centimeters per year. A smaller child with smaller parents who grows at the bottom of the growth curve grows about 4 to 5 centimeters per year. If you are reading this, it is no wonder that clothes and shoes regularly become too small.

Please note that the table below provides a guideline. If your child is tall or your child is slightly fuller, your little one may need a larger size. Or, perhaps your little one is very small or very petite, then your child may need a size smaller than average. For clothing, the Dutch size often corresponds to the height of your child.

How do the brands you buy at VanZus fit??
There is quite a difference between the sizes of the different brands that we sell. One brand is large, while the other brand is very small. Of course it also depends on the build of your child. We will take you through our findings. In the event of deviations, we will also include this in the product description on the website as size advice as much as possible.

Konges Slojd
The clothing and also the swimwear of Konges Slojd are large. If in doubt between two Sizes, we recommend that you choose the smallest size or choose one size smaller than normal for safety reasons.

Liewood
The clothing from Liewood fits true to size. Choose the size you would normally choose or at most one size larger if you want to wear it for a while longer or want it to be a bit looser.

Lil' Atelier
Lil' Atelier has a loose fit, with the length being particularly striking. The brand is quite long, both for rompers and trousers, for example. If your child is not that tall, if in doubt between two Sizen, choose the smallest size.

Alwero
Alwero generally fits true to size. The exception to this are the body warmers in the smallest Sizen. We recommend that you order this one size larger than normal. Please note that Alwero products are made of wool and can therefore become damaged when you wash them.

Mrs Ertha
The Portuguese brand Mrs Ertha runs very small, both in clothing and swimwear . We recommend that you order 1 to 2 Sizen larger than you normally would.

That's Mine
The clothing from That's Mine fits true to size. Choose the size you would normally choose or at most one size larger if you want to buy it as it grows.

Copenhagen Colors
The clothing from Copenhagen Colors fits true to size. You can choose your child's usual clothing size or at most one size larger if you want to buy it as it grows or want it to fit a little looser.

Hvid
The Belgian brand Hvid fits true to size. You can choose the usual size. Please note that most items are made of (merino) wool and can therefore break in the wash.
